I’m Paulina, an illustrator based in Edinburgh, bringing stories to life through picture books, live sketching, and the occasional giant window mural. Whether I’m crafting characters for a children’s book, turning conference presentations into engaging visuals, or painting something big and bold for a shopfront, my work is all about storytelling. I love playing with expression, composition, and humor to create illustrations that connect with people- whether they’re flipping through a picture book or passing by a window on the street.

Beyond the artwork itself, I care deeply about representation and making sure everyone can see themselves in the stories we tell.

 

Diversity and inclusion aren’t just buzzwords to me- they’re essential to the way I approach illustration. I want my characters to reflect the real world in all its variety, celebrating different perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences.

 

When I’m not drawing, I’m usually talking about drawing. I love sharing the highs and lows of freelance life on my Substack, where I document the winding, wonderful, sometimes chaotic journey of working as an artist. Creativity isn’t always easy, but I believe the world needs more of it- and more people willing to dive in, take risks, and make things. That’s why I’m proud to be part of a creative community, both online and in person, where ideas grow, support is real, and art gets made.
